During the pandemic, there were some experiences of joy and sorrow, happy and sad. Nowadays the situation is getting back to normal, people have started working in offices and other places. Students have started learning at school 100%. We hope that things are fully normal, and we can do all our activities as usual before the pandemic. Here are some students who want to share their experiences through their own writings. The following are the writing of Andrew and Joseph from grade 6

My Experience of Offline Schooling

Hi my name is Stefanus Andrew Kenjiro Lucas, but my friends call me Andrew, I am a 6th grader at SD Strada Santa Maria, which is located at the Daan Mogot road in Tangerang city. Let me share you my offline school experience.

Every school day, I usually wake up around 5:00 AM . I ride on a school bus with my little brother and a few other Strada students to go to our school around 5:45 AM. I arrive at approximately 6:25 AM. Before the school bell rang, I often watch my friends play games or go to the bathroom. The first recess bell rung at 9: 00 AM, I’m eating my lunch that my mom made me by then but I usually left some over because I’m full. We got back studying by 9: 15. At 10:30 AM the second recess bell rung, I finished my lunch left over by then. The second recess is over at 10:45 AM, and we occasionally play Quizizz after the bell rung. The school ends at 12:00 PM but I still have to wait for the other school bus passengers and then cross the road with the other students and the school bus driver. By 12:30 I am usually already home.

I like offline school better because I get to meet some of my friends inside of the school bus, and I get to meet them at school too, and we can play Quizizz, if the teacher has a Quizizz quiz ready, or if there is an exam, we can study using Quizizz. The best thing I like about offline school is that I can learn better because I can ask the teacher if I don’t understand something, and then the teacher will explain it to me.

In some cases, I don’t like offline school because of the covid-19 pandemic which infected a few of the student in class and I’m afraid I might get infected too and also sometimes I must wait for the junior high schoolers that will make me arrive at home at approximately 13:30. Overall  I prefer offline school because I can play with my friends and learn better at school.

When The Pandemic hit Indonesia

The Pandemic started when corona virus come to Indonesia on March 2020. I was in the  3rd grade. During the pandemic all schools in Indoesia is on quanrantine and started online school. We used google classroom and zoom to learn online every day.

When I was 4th grade, we did fully online school on zoom and google classroom. After everyone was home schooling there was some good things that happened, for examples how to use my computer, more time with family and can get up late. But there’s bad thing’s also, like I can’t see my friends or when it’s time to learn at home with zoom meeting but the wifi was lagging. We were in quanrantine so no one can saw and met other people, and I have nothing to do. So, we get bored easily.

When I was on 5fth grade on April 2022,  50% of the student can go to school, and there is Zooming from home. We did hybrid learning. Every day, all of the students change from Monday to Thursday, every student goes to school except Friday because all of the 6th grades have their test.

Now I’m 6th grade, every day I go to school.  I can see all of my friends because the corona virus have reduced. But, that make everyone getting way to comfortable, so the virus spread again, because everyone being together with many people with less health protocol. Even we already got the vaccinated we have to do the health protocol always to minimize the risk of getting the corona virus.

There is a lot of challenge that we face on this pandemic season, but like old phrase say, when life give you a lemon, just make it into lemonade.
